Through solo and ensemble performances, students develop confidence, refine their skills and benefit from professional adjudication while representing the College.

Battle of the ROCK Bands
Livingstone's student musicians have opportunities to compete in Battle of the ROCK Bands, an annual high-school rock music competition hosted by Clairvaux MacKillop College in Brisbane.
Competing alongside bands from across Queensland, students showcase their contemporary musicianship, creativity and teamwork on stage.

The College has enjoyed success at the festival, including winning the Outstanding Comedic Performance trophy in 2019, alongside three students receiving Outstanding Actor awards.

State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP)
Each year, several Livingstone students are selected to participate in the State Honours Ensemble Program, facilitated by Griffith University's Queensland Conservatorium.
This program brings talented young musicians together to rehearse and perform in large ensembles under the direction of experienced national and international conductors.

Queensland Theatre – The Scene Project
Livingstone's Year 9 and 10 Drama students participate in The Scene Project, a state-wide initiative facilitated by Queensland Theatre.
Students develop their own interpretation of a specially commissioned play before performing alongside other schools and engaging with professional theatre artists.

MEGABAND Project
Livingstone students have participated in MEGABAND, a large-scale collaborative music experience bringing together hundreds of young musicians from across Queensland.
In 2026, the event brought together more than 500 school-aged musicians to perform as one mass concert band, providing a unique opportunity for collaboration and large-ensemble performance.

Excellence Beyond the Classroom
These opportunities reflect Livingstone's commitment to Christ, Character and Excellence, encouraging students to grow in confidence, discipline, creativity and perseverance.
Through competition, collaboration and performance, students are challenged to develop their abilities and use their gifts to contribute to the wider community.
