Livingstone’s differentiated curriculum effectively works to meet the diverse range of students’ learning needs. Extending and supporting students is a priority for our teaching team, who arewell supported by the College’s Enrichment department. In addition, a range of excursions and incursions enhance classroom learning by bringing real-world experiences to curriculum and helping students make meaningful connections beyond the classroom.
Character development, wellbeing, and resilience are central to the student experience at Livingstone. Through our Positive Behaviour Management framework (SHAPE), anti-bullying and conflict resolution program (Bridge Builders), and social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing program (My Life Rulz), students are supported to grow into respectful, resilient, and compassionate individuals. These initiatives help build a strong foundation for lifelong character and personal wellbeing. Character and spiritual growth is further strengthened through our outdoor education experiences, with camps offered from Year 4 to 6. These programs give students the opportunity to develop independence, teamwork, and confidence in a supportive and values-based environment.
Our Primary school offers many student leadership opportunities including College Captains, Vice Captains, House Captains, Community Captains, Chapel Captains and Creative Arts Captains. These Captains lead Chapels, Assemblies and events with their teams, looking at ways to serve our local and global communities. These opportunities are designed to nurture confidence, responsibility, and a heart for service—essential qualities that help students grow as compassionate and capable leaders, both now and in the future.
At Livingstone, we are committed to supporting students through each stage of their educational journey. Our Primary team work closely with the Early Learning Centre and Secondary Teams to ensure smooth, positive transitions from Pre-Prep into Prep and from Year 6 into Year 7. These thoughtfully designed transitions help students feel confident, cared for, and connected, fostering a strong sense of belonging within the Livingstone community.
The Primary School at Livingstone nurtures a love of learning by offering a diverse range of academic and co-curricular opportunities, all grounded in a Christian worldview. In addition to core learning areas, students engage in subjects such as Design Technology & Agricultural Science, Physical Education, Chinese, Digital Technologies, Drama/Film and Screen Acting, Music and Visual Arts.
Beyond the classroom, our students can participate in a variety of free clubs, including choirs, gardening, digital technologies, chess, reading, art, and praise and worship. For those wanting to further develop their skills and passions, fee-based programs are available through Livingstone Arts Academy and Livingstone Sports Academy.
