The Responsible Thinking Classroom is a key part of Livingstone’s commitment to helping students flourish not only academically but also in their character and emotional wellbeing. Like every classroom at Livingstone, the RTC exists to support student growth—for now and for life beyond school. Responsible Thinking Classroom (RTC) The Responsible Thinking Classroom is a key part of Livingstone’s commitment to helping students flourish not only academically but also in their character and emotional wellbeing. Like every classroom at Livingstone, the RTC exists to support student growth—for now and for life beyond school. Students may attend the RTC for a variety of reasons, including: Behaviour that is out of SHAPE (our Positive Behaviour Framework) Needing a reset or break from the classroom Suspension supervision and restorative reflection Lunchtime consequences requiring guided reflection Supervised exam catch-ups Support for anxiety, school refusal, or emotional regulation Within this space, students are guided through a reflection process that helps them identify the behaviour that brought them there, how they were feeling at the time, and what strategies or mindset shifts might help them respond differently next time. A key part of the RTC process involves Restorative Conversations, guided discussions between the student and staff to repair relationships and restore a positive learning environment. Most importantly, the RTC is not about punishment but about growth. It’s a place where students are taught to take ownership of their choices and are equipped with the tools and strategies they need to successfully return to class and continue learning. It is a space of truth, grace, and restoration, helping students get back into SHAPE and flourish.

Our mission is to educate for eternity and equip for life—and that includes helping every student grow into a young person of conviction, compassion, and courage. Our whole-school Character Development program is designed to guide students from Prep to Year 12 through age-appropriate, Christ-centered formation. With a clear Biblical focus, each year level sees students develop through Pastoral Care lessons, interactive Character Development Days, and a range of personal development programs. Key programs include: Respectful Relationships – A sequential and Biblically grounded curriculum covering topics such as emotional regulation, proactive communication, resilience, advocacy, and negotiation. Students learn to value themselves and others, while engaging with Scripture, human rights, and relevant laws. Bridge Builders – An essential conflict resolution and relationship tool used across the school to equip students with practical, restorative strategies for dealing with tension and rebuilding trust. My Life Rulz – A foundational framework introduced early in the journey to help students develop emotional awareness and self-control, while reinforcing God’s truth about identity and choices. Character Development Days – Held each semester, these days allow students to engage in real-life, age-appropriate experiences that reinforce our core values through worship, workshops, panels, and peer discussions. Through it all, our students are encouraged to take ownership of their growth, contribute to their community, and live lives that honour Christ. At Livingstone, character is not an optional extra—it is part of who we are and who we are becoming.

Ministry Team At Livingstone Christian College, our Ministry Team is committed to supporting the social, emotional, and spiritual growth of every student. Grounded in the gospel of Jesus Christ, we create opportunities for students to explore faith, ask meaningful questions, and grow in their relationship with God. Each week, students are encouraged and equipped through Chapel services, small group mentoring, and input from local church leaders and Christian organisations. These experiences are designed to point students to Jesus, helping them know Christ personally, trust in His Word, and follow Him in every area of life. Students are also given the opportunity to serve and lead, whether through involvement in Chapel, peer mentoring, or other ministry programs. Our desire is to see students not only grow in their faith but also step into roles where they can influence others for Christ. Ultimately, the heart of the Ministry Team’s work is to see each student discover the God-given meaning of life and their unique place within His story. Chaplains Our Chaplains play a vital role in the spiritual and pastoral life of the College. They provide one-on-one support for students, facilitate small groups and mentoring programs, and help coordinate weekly Chapel services that proclaim the gospel and cultivate a Christ-centred community. Chaplains are available to journey alongside students through everyday life challenges, offering a listening ear, biblical wisdom, and prayerful encouragement. They also support staff and families as we work together to nurture a flourishing Christ-centred culture across the College. School Counsellor The School Counsellor provides professional, confidential support for students navigating emotional, relational, or mental health challenges. Working in partnership with parents, staff, and the wider Ministry Team, our counsellor creates a safe and supportive space where students can process their concerns, build resilience, and develop healthy coping strategies. Whether students are facing anxiety, grief, friendship issues, or school-related stress, the counsellor offers compassionate care that promotes wellbeing and empowers students to flourish.
