Early Learning Centre Grounded in the truth that every child is fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God, our Christ-centred approach nurtures each child’s unique identity, gifts, and potential. From Infants to Pre-Prep and School Age Care, our passionate and qualified Christian educators create safe, inclusive, and inspiring environments where children are known, loved, and supported to grow in Christ, character, and excellence. We believe children are capable, creative, and deeply curious. Through a balanced approach of play-based learning, intentional teaching, and child-led exploration, we support children to grow across all developmental domains - cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual. Our learning environments are thoughtfully designed to spark wonder, inspire discovery, and reflect the beauty and intentionality of our Creator. At Livingstone, Christ is our foundation. Biblical truth is woven through every aspect of our programs, shaping the way we teach, care, and build relationships. Our team is committed to reflecting the love, grace, and wisdom of Jesus in all we do. We recognise families as children’s first and most influential educators. That’s why we value open communication, mutual respect, and strong, collaborative partnerships. Together, we nurture each child’s faith and learning journey, walking alongside families with shared purpose. At Livingstone Christian College Early Learning Centre, we live what we believe—offering a joyful, high-quality, and faith-filled early learning experience where children and families encounter the love and truth of God every day. We look forward to welcoming you into our community. At Livingstone Christian College Early Learning Centre, we believe that high-quality early childhood education and care is a powerful investment in each child’s future. These early years are foundational for life, shaping not only cognitive and physical development but also character, faith, and a lifelong love of learning. Early Years (Infants – 4 Years) Our Early Years programs are thoughtfully structured across four age-based learning environments. Each space is intentionally designed to support children’s development as they journey through these early stages of life, laying a strong foundation for future learning, relationships, and faith. Possums (6 weeks to 15 months) In this foundational stage, our focus is on building secure attachments and responsive relationships. We support early developmental milestones such as forming trusting bonds, beginning to communicate through sounds and gestures, and exploring the environment through sensory play. Our educators nurture each child’s sense of safety and belonging, laying the groundwork for healthy brain development and emotional wellbeing. Koalas (12 months to 2 years) Toddlers are growing in confidence and autonomy. In this stage, we support language development, early problem-solving, gross motor exploration, and social interaction. Children begin to express their needs and emotions, explore their independence, and learn through repetition, imitation, and discovery. Through Christ-centred care, we aim to help them navigate big emotions with love, grace, and gentle guidance. Bilbies (2 to 3 years) As children’s curiosity deepens, our program focuses on developing self-regulation, cooperative play, language expansion, and emerging independence in routines. We scaffold early numeracy and literacy concepts, encourage imaginative play, and support growing friendships. We affirm each child’s God-given identity and help them begin to understand that they are loved by a faithful and personal God. Wallabies (3 to 4 years) Our Wallabies children are increasingly confident and capable. We focus on promoting social competence, persistence, problem-solving, and a growing sense of responsibility. Children develop early literacy and numeracy through play and intentional teaching, and they grow in empathy, communication, and self-help skills. Their understanding of God’s world expands, and they are invited to wonder, worship, and grow in their faith. Pre-Prep (3.5-5 Years) Our Pre-Prep program offers a balanced approach, combining play-based learning, inquiry, and intentional teaching to support holistic development and prepare children for a confident and successful transition to school. We recognise that play is the important work of childhood, providing a means through which children explore, discover, and make sense of their world. Our Early Childhood Teachers intentionally use playful pedagogies to spark curiosity, foster a love of learning, and support each child’s ongoing growth and development. Our emergent curriculum is responsive to each child’s interests and developmental needs, encouraging them to wonder, problem-solve, and collaborate in ways that are meaningful and engaging. Learning is richly embedded in real-life contexts, promoting connectedness with others, the environment, and God’s Word. Each day is shaped by a developmentally appropriate rhythm that includes opportunities for indoor and outdoor exploration, structured group learning, and quiet moments for reflection and rest. Our Pre-Prep program is thoughtfully designed to celebrate the early years, while supporting a smooth and confident transition to formal schooling. A cornerstone of our program is our School Readiness Program, an initiative that combines inquiry-based learning with age-appropriate intentional teaching to develop foundational skills for lifelong learning. The LEAP curriculum progresses across four key areas: Term 1 – Discovering Identity: Building a strong sense of self, belonging, and confidence in being a child of God. Term 2 – Growing Together: Introducing early literacy and numeracy skills through collaborative, play-rich experiences. Term 3 – Building on Strengths: Extending learning through purposeful investigations and deeper inquiry. Term 4 – Ready to Launch: Strengthening self-regulation, resilience, and independence to ensure a smooth transition to Prep. Throughout the year Pre-Prep children engage with our wider College community – attending Chapels and Assemblies, participating in Foundation Events, and regularly visiting College grounds including the library. These moments build a sense of familiarity with school routines and culture while strengthening children’s connection to the wider Livingstone community. At Livingstone Christian College Pre-Prep, we are passionate about nurturing each child’s God-given identity, capacity, and purpose. Our balanced approach equips children not only for a successful start to school but for a life of learning, faith, and flourishing. We warmly welcome your family to begin this joyful and important journey with us. What Year Does My Child Begin Pre-Prep?
