Vocational Excellence

Livingstone's Vocational Excellence Program (VEP) is an individual pathway option for students in Years 10 to 12.  The program is specifically designed for students who are wanting to gain a trade while also attaining their QCE. Our goal is that all trainees who leave us will flourish in a work environment, ready for work and with a job lined up. These students, our trainees, have a more flexible school day to allow for work experiences and industry engagement targeted to what employers need and want.

By engaging with industry Livingstone has learned what employers want and need for the future work force. We instil certain qualities in our trainees and as a result, we are turning kids RED - building Resilience, Emotional intelligence and Design thinking. Trainees are treated like trainees on a job site; from what they wear, how they conduct themselves on site and their levels of training. Trainees are given the opportunity to attain tickets, work shadow employers, attend mock interviews and complete probation tasks. We want to prepare our Livingstone VEP trainees to have the edge in the job market.

Because we partner with registered training organisations (RTO), any career pathway is available through the VEP program.

If you have a student who doesn’t necessarily flourish in the academic space, or who wants to get a kick start on their career, then come see what we are doing at Livingstone to offer Vocational Excellence.
