Computer Software

Student are required to have the following software on their laptop:

  • Microsoft Office 
  • an Internet Browser
  • a PDF reader 

The Adobe Creative Suite and the Autodesk software are optional.

Students are responsible for all software they load onto their device.


Microsoft Office 2016

The Microsoft Office 2016 Suite includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook and Publisher. It is available for free for students while attending the college.

Chrome

Chrome is an Internet browser developed by Google. It is available on Windows and Mac.

Adobe Acrobat Reader 

Adobe Acrobat Reader software is the free global standard for reliably viewing and printing PDF documents. It is available for both Windows and Mac.

Adobe Creative Cloud

Students use select products from the Adobe Creative Cloud suite in certain classes. The products are determined by the class teacher based upon the curriculum content.

The College IT Department assists students who wish to have these products installed on their BYOD device. Student can contact the IT Department either through their class teacher or by visiting the HelpDesk in the Library during break times.  


As of 2019, student are NOT to install the trail version of the Adobe Suite. 


AUTODESK  (Graphics students)

Autodesk provides a free 3-year education license of selected software for students. Livingstone’s graphics classes may use using AutoCAD, Inventor Professional and Revit software. The software is designed for Windows computers. AutoCAD is the only software available for Mac.
